sepals purple or rose, 1-2 mm; petals 1.5-2 × 0.3-0.5 mm. Flowering mid Mar-Apr. Gravelly and stony hills, desert grasslands, roadsides; 1400-2000 m; Ariz., N.Mex., Tex.; Mexico (Chihuahua).
