North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences Herbarium (NCSM-NCSM)

The NCSM Herbarium is within The Naturalist Center in the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in the center of Raleigh, North Carolina. The collection of ca 2000 specimens focuses on native flora of North America, with particular emphasis on the southeastern United States. Important collectors include John I. Connors (former NCMNS staff, retired 2012), Dr. Lisa Kelly, UNC Pembroke (esp. flora of Huggins Island, Onlsow County, NC), and Dr. Patrick D. McMillan, Director, Heronswood Garden, Kingston, WA (former NCMNS staff ca 1991-2000). NCSM does not loan specimens, but researchers are encouraged to contact Dr. Cynthia Lincoln (Naturalist Center Manager) or Greg Skupien (Naturalist Center Curator) to arrange a visit to the NCSM Herbarium.
