Montane Juniperus-scopulorum-Pinus flexilis-Pinus ponderosa-Pseudotsuga menziesii forest on steep, rocky, S and SW-facing slopes above confluence of Curtis Gulch and La Bonte Creek, with shrubby understory dominated by Artemisia tridentata, Juniperus communis, Physocarpus monogynus, Populus tremuloides and Purshia tridentata, and along creek by Acer glabrum, Cornus sericea, Prunus virginiana and Rosa nutkana. Tall granite cliffs at top of slope with abundant boulders on slopes below; coarse sandy soil.
