Tall bluffs, isolated blocks, and scattered boulders of pale, highly erodable sandstone of Tertiary Fort Union Formation; open, mostly recently burned, Ponderosa pine forest with scattered shrubby Juniperus, Prunus virginiana, and Ribes in understory; and weedy, northern shortgrass prairie on gentle to moderately steep sand hills.
Common. Large trees. Both exsiccata and boxed specimen prepared.
