Dry wash bottom on cobbles and gravel derived from Claron Limestone. Wash bottom edged by Pinus ponderosa, Prunus virginiana, Juniperus osteosperma, Populus angustifolia, Picea engelmannii. Bottom with Astragalus kentrophyta, Lepidium montanum var. claronense, Physaria chambersii, Ipomopsis aggregata, & Phlox gladiformis.
Uncommon. Best developed on convex linear washlets going down Claron slopes, probably formed from erosion by channeled snow melt. Found occasionally at base of slopes. More often near summit.
