Locality: United States, Kentucky, Madison, Berea College Forest, trail to East Pinnacle, at area burned in 1987, 1.0 mi from Indian Fort Amphitheatre, 0.9 mi east of Berea city limits, 1.1 mi east of KY 1617 off KY 21.
Habitat: At area burned in 1987. Ten year secondary Quercus-Carya-Pinus successional stand. Associates: Smilax spp., Ulmus rubra, Acer rubrum, A. saccharum, Pinus virginiana, Quercus alba, Q. velutina, Q. rubra, Carya ovata, C. tomentosa, Fraxinus americana, Robinia pseudoacacia, Rhus copallina, R. glabra. Native perennial, infrequent, on rocky soil.
