Habitat: Large fen with high quality portions on eastern edge. Beautiful large Larix laricina trees shelter very diverse ribbons of fen. Large west portion is dominated by weedy species including Agrostis gigantea. Phalaris arundinacea dominates the fen/woodland interfaces. Bordered on north by creek and on south by woodland upland. Carex stricta dominated area in middle of prairie fen; about 80m south of oak island and about 120m north of woodland upland; common species in area include Eutrochium maculatum, Symphyotrichum firmum, Solidago altissima, Pycnanthemum virginicum, Thelypteris palustris, Toxicodendron vernix and Lathyrus palustris; ground moist organic with some dry deeper down.
