Very long heterogenous fen with marked spots of high diversity and other large weedy zones. Fen elevated on norther and southern margins and depressed near central lakes (2). Bordered on north by woodland as well as on southern edge, but southern edge has a railroad and nearby row-crop agriculture. Typhaspp. appear to be heavily impacting fen. Diverse, high quality portion of prairie fen. About 30m east of north tip of oak island and about 60m south of Long Lake. Carex stricta, Dasiphora fruticosa, Andropogon gerardii, Euthamia graminifolia, Muhlenbergia glomerata, and Pycnanthemum virginicum are common. Starting to be invaded by Cornus foemina. Located just to east of lower, very wet area. Quadrat much higher (about 1m) and drier.
