Bordered on north by woodland as well as on southern edge, but southern edge has a railroad and nearby row-crop agriculture. Typhaspp. appear to be heavily impacting fen. Carex stricta dominate area immediately to west of footpath. Shrubs to the east and west including Salix spp., Populus tremuloides, and Frangula alnus. Ground moist but not wet. Other species include Rudbeckia fulgida, Solidago canadensis, Zizia aurea, Thalictrum dasycarpum, and Solidago gigantea.
