Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. In center portion of prairie fen, 200m west of hunting blind and cement pillar, 15m north of stream, 5m west of shrubby thicket with some aspen. Sedge and Asteraceae meadow with Poaceae common. Shrubs of Cornus, Toxicodendron vernix, or aspen every 1m2. Shrubs usually less than 1m tall. Ground hummocky and moist.
Population - One sapling in quadrat with few other small ones in area. 1-3 per 1m2 for 20m2.
