Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. In central portion of 250m from northern border, 250m from eastern border. Sedge meadow with Asteraceae and shrubby encroachment of Cornus and Toxicodendron vernix. Shrubs over 2m every 9-25m2 shrubs under 2m every 1m2. Ground hummocky and wet to moist. Ant mounds nearby.
Population - Very common and dominant in area, 3-5 per 1m2 for 10m2. Seen with Dasiphora fruticosa and Carex.
