Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. On eastern edge of fen, 100m from Fay Lake north-south road, 70m SW of telephone pole, 20m north of storm drain stream to lake. Dominated by Typha angustifolia, Rosaceae, Poaceae, and Carex with Toxicodendron vernix shrubs. Ground tussocky (10-30cm tall) and wet.
Population - Shrubs less than 2m tall, no fruits, white pith, pubscent. Growing on Carex stricta tussocks with Sorghastrum nutans and Rosa palustris.
