Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 20m north of access road on west side of upland oak grove. In transition from prairie fen to upland woods. Dominated by Asteraceae and grasses. Fallen logs, moss, and Toxicodendron radicans cover ground. Ground moist to dry, level.
Population - Common, clumped, 2-7 individuals per 1m2 for 30m west.
