Habitat: Extremely steep slope littered with boulders, rocks and gravel almost at angle of repose, on open portion of slope in Pinus edulis/Juniperus osteosperma/ Cercocarpus montanus community w/ scattered Fendlera falcata, Amelanchier utahensis, Boechera selbyi; locally common. Permian Cutler Form.
Reproductive Condition: Flr
Notes: 7.5' Gateway quad, NAD27. Small clumps, rays white to occasionally violet, stem hairs sparse, mostly spreading ascending; leaf hairs mostly strigose; appears intermediate w/ E. engelmannii;
