Locality: USA, Arizona, Yavapai, South side of Chasm Creek at a point 1.13 km NNE of Goat Camp Spring and 3.24 km SE of the summit of Squaw Peak. Chasm Creek-Black Hills-Prescott National Forest. Growing on slope near base of rock outcrop ca. 7 m S of creek. Horner Mtn. Quadrangle (7 1/2 min.). UTM 3811675N by 421010E (Zone 12)

Elevation: 1294 meters
Verbatim Elevation: 4245 ft.
Habitat: Pinyon-juniper woodland. Partially shaded and somewhat dry. Slope about 10°; facing north-northwest.
Substrate: Soil deposits on the slope are relatively deep but thoroughly mixed with rocks of all sizes. They have derived in situ from Precambrian granite and organic detritus.
Associated Species: Juniperus, Quercus, Pinus, Cercocarpus, Yucca, Acacia, Garrya
Notes: Common throughout the canyon on a variety of substrates. Favors shaded, north-facing slopes and rock outcrops.
