Description: Roots and basal leaves missing from specimen. Cauline leaves very reduced. Inflorescence a contracted panicle. Usually 2-3 florets/spikelet. Spikelets compressed, keeled. Lemmas lacking cobwebby hairs at base. Glumes subequal. Lemmas pubescent on keel and marginal nerves; margins scabrous. purple-tinged. Florets all pistillate.
