Habitat: South facing steep hill. Desert shrub zone, 40% cover. Dominant shrubs Atriplex confertifolia and A. cuneata. Dominant grasses Hilaria jamesii and Oryzopsis hymenoides. With scattered pinyon-juniper, Yucca, Oenothera, Opuntia polyacantha. Surface rock black lava, large cobbles to boulders, about 50% cover; parent rock Blue Gate shale of the Mancos.
