Habitat: Stabilized sand dune community in open Pinus edulis - Juniperus osteosperma pygmy forest; associates include Artemisia filifolia, A. bigelovii, Epehdra cutleri, Sporobolus contractus, Ambrosia acanthacarpa, Dithyrea wislizenii, Muhlenbergia pungens, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Hymenopappus filifolius; large woody based clumps to 2ft. high; foliage with strong mint odor, sage green; flowers white with purple dotted lip; stamens 2; very common.
