USA, Arizona, Pima County, Las Cienegas National Conservation Area, west of Empire Ranch Headquarters atop ridge separating Empire Gulch and Los Posos watersheds.
Fairly common. Solitary plant, not suckering. Leaves to to ca. 60 cm. long turning purplish with maturing of fruiting stalk. Flowering/fruiting stalk ca. 3.5 m tall, paniculate with 13 peducies.
