United States, Colorado, Gunnison, Gothic. South ridge of Gothic Mountain above Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. From cliffs at south end of ridge, down steep gullies and scree into Washington Gulch, and then down steep vegetated slopes to Gothic-Snodgrass saddle.

Lower hot, dry slopes to Snodgrass saddle. Very loose, sandy soil with sage and grasses. Subalpine communities on steep slopes. Lower grassy slopes to spruce-fir treeline near saddle.
Flowers white, campanulate, stamens exserted. Leaves with 2 basal lobes; long, appressed hairs, but only slightly silvery. Full bloom. Common.
