Locality: United States, New Mexico, Rio Arriba, United States: New Mexico: Rio Arriba County. Santa Fe National Forest: Madera Canyon. Sante Fe National Forest Tailhead 4, accessible from NM Highway 84 between Abiquiu and Hernandez. Approximately 7 miles SE of Abiqui and 3.25 miles from junction with NM 554. Elev. 1789 m. On steep sandy slopes, and in wash of dry arroyo. Plants distributed along water drainage routes. Large shrubs, many appearing procumbent because of shifting sand, with subterranean systems of woody branches. Leaves silvery-green in appearance, corollas lavender-blue with purple spots in lower labellum. Plants aromatic. Lat. 36°10'11.160"N Long. 106°13'12.564"W Datum: WGS84.
