Locality: United States, Florida, Miami-Dade, United States: Florida: Miami-Dade County. Coconut Grove: The Kampong of the National Tropical Botanical Garden, 4013 S. Douglas Road. Cultivated on the left (northeast) side of main driveway approximately 100 feet from entrance gate (plot C-5). Herb 2 feet high. Leaves shiny deep green, silvery green to yellowish-green along midvein and lateral veins. Leaves and floral bracts with spiny margins. Corolla pale pink, white toward base; underside of petals with purple veins.
