Description:
Rare, non-suckering, leaves green tinged with maroon-rose, flower stalk ca 6-2/3 m tall, 53 mm in diameter at 1-3/4 m up from ground, inflorescence narrowly paniculate, lateral branches 22, ascending, down 2/3 of stalk, ovary, neck chartreuse, tube light cream-chartreuse, tepal lobes light cream flushed with maroon, outer tepal lobes brown apically, inner tepal lobes keel cream, white pubescent on distal 1/2 of outer tepals and distal 2/3 margins of inner tepals, filaments, style dark maroon-purple, anthers maroon-purple/light yellow, flowers thick, stout, brittle, tepals clasping but quickly recurved at apices, ovary, neck angled; flower measurements after Gentry (1982) in mm: tl=59, o=28x10, n=5.5, tu=20hx12w, fil ins=9.5, 8.2, fil=48, a=12 (during), outer tepal lobe 10x5.5(base), 3.5(mid), inner tepal lobe 9x5(base), 4(mid), sty=37; tl=58, o=26x8, n=3.7, tu=18hx13w, fil ins=8.5, 7.2, fil=39, a=15 (pre-anthesis), outer tepal lobe 10.75x6.5(base), 5(mid), inner tepal lobe 10x4.8(base), 3.5(mid), sty=26.
