A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. 150m west of railroad, 100m south of boardwalk in a Typha stand with Asteraceae under layer and shrub layer of alder (4-5m tall), Cornus (2-3m), and Toxicodendron vernix (3-4m). Some invasive Lythrum salicaria as we walked in. Ground wet, but not puddling, Underneath fruiting alder shrub.
Population - Clumped, very prominent in area, 3-7 small to moderate sized shrubs in 1m2 area for 40m2.
