Habitat: Pinyon-Juniper woodland. Dry P-J uplands with oak, sage, and serviceberry.
Reproductive Condition: Flr
Notes: Weber (2001) lumps the various matted Penstemons into P. caespitosus. Other authors recognize several species within the complex. Within the BLCA/CURE study area the relevant taxa are P. crandallii & P. teucrioides. Det. T. Hogan & N. Lederer, Dec. 2004.
