Habitat: Among creosotebush shrubs on very gently sloping upland underlain by tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate of the Tascotal Formation. Associates included Acleisanthes longiflora, Baileya multiradiata, Boerhavia sp., Chamaesyce theriaca, Cylindropuntia imbricata, Dalea neomexicana, Dasyochloa pulchella, Echinocactus horizonthalonius, Fouquieria splendens, Kallstroemia parviflora, Larrea tridentata, Melampodium sp., Nerisyrenia camporum, Pectis papposa, Talinum aurantiacum, Yucca torreyi. Common.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
