Habitat: Foliage and flowers gray-canescent; frequent in mixed vegetation (bluestem grassland with scattered mesquite) on sandy inclusion within soils mapped as Spur clay loam, on broad terrace. Associates include Andropogon hallii, Artemisia dracunculus, A. filifolia, A. ludoviciana, Bouteloua curtipendula, Eriogonum multiflorum, Gaillardia (pulchella?), Heterotheca spp., Prosopis glandulosa, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sorghastum nutans, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Stenosiphon linifolius, Tridens muticus, Xanthisma texanum.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
