Locality: United States, Texas, Randall, Cononcita Ranch. At beginning of descent of main road into Palo Duro Canyon, ca. 2.1 airmiles WSW of confluence of N Cita and S Cita creeks. Fortress Cliff Quadrangle. Elev. 3460 ft.
Habitat: Occasional in shortgrass grassland on Potter soils on top of Ogalalla caprock. Associates include Zinnia grandiflora, Paronychia jamesii, Aristida spp., Bouteloua curtipendula, B. hirsuta, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Panicum hallii, Machaeranthera pinnatifida, Thelesperma megapotamicum, Leucelene ericoides, and Tridens muticus.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
