Habitat: Rare (in late May) in lightly grazed coastal prairie on fine sandy loam on gently undulating upland underlain by Goliad Formation. Grassland dominated (in spring) by Paspalum plicatulum; characteristic species inlcude Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Coreopsis nuecensoides, Eragrostis secundiflora, Fimbristylis puberula, Gaillardia aestivalis, Juncus marginatus, Monarda punctata, Rhynchosia americana, Rhynchospora harveyi, Rudbeckia hirta, Rumex hastatulus, Schizachyrium scoparium, Stillingia sylvatica.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruiting=mid
