Prairie fen runs along Spring Mill Creek. Edges are wooded with oaks. Horribly overgrown with many large areas that were marked as fen, now dense shrub carr. Barely could be considered prairie fen anymore. Right on edge of wooded border into a former prairie fen/Typha stand with 45% shrub cover. Oak, aspen, and Rhamnaceae forming true canopy (10m tall). Some Carex and Asteraceae in the Typha and shrubs.
Fruit - berry/drupe at end of branches, clustered.Population - 1 over 3m tall, others less than 1m tall, only the tall one has fruits.
